💬 What It Does
CrewHero includes built-in SMS texting so you can communicate important announcements directly to your team’s phones.
It’s fast, reliable, and effective — especially for crew members who don’t check email or app notifications regularly.
📲 When to Use SMS
You can send SMS directly from the Team Announcements tab.
Common use cases:
- 🌧️ Weather delays or closures
- 🛠️ Last-minute schedule changes
- 🧢 Uniform or PPE reminders
- 🍔 Crew cookouts or meetings
- 🎉 Birthday shoutouts or kudos
- 📋 HR or benefits reminders (open enrollment, etc.)
Pro Tip: You can send an SMS to everyone or filter by Division.
✅ How to Send an SMS Announcement
1. Go to the Team Announcements tab
Found in the left-side menu of the Manager App.
2. Click Create New
3. Fill in the Announcement
- Title (this is what will be sent as the SMS)
- Message (longer text for the in-app post)
- Audience (select Divisions or send to All)
4. Post It
Once posted, you’ll see the option to Send as SMS.
⚠️ SMS will only go to users who:
🔐 SMS Delivery + Privacy
CrewHero handles SMS through a secure platform compliant with TCR (The Campaign Registry).
- No one’s personal number is exposed
- Messages come from a verified CrewHero phone number
- Users can opt out by replying STOP at any time
If a user opts out, you’ll see their SMS status change in the People tab.
