🧱 What Are Divisions?

Divisions in CrewHero help you organize your business based on:

  • Regions or Territories
  • Services (e.g. Maintenance, Install, Irrigation)
  • Shop Locations
  • Managers or Supervisors
  • Internal Brands (Snow Ops, Enhancements, etc.)

Each Division can have its own Crews, Team Members, Assignments, and Vehicles — keeping things clean and focused.

🔧 How to Create a Division

  1. Go to the Manager App
  1. In the sidebar, click Divisions
  1. Click “+ Add Division”
  1. Name your Division (example: "North Region", "Turf Care", "Fleet Ops")
  1. (Optional) Choose a color or icon to visually group it
  1. Assign a Manager
      • Select the person responsible for this division
      • ✅ This sets them up to Send and Receive SMS alerts within their division as we add SMS opportunities
  1. Click Save — you’re ready to go

🪜 Suggestions Based on Company Size

🟢 Small Companies (1–3 Crews)

Keep it simple:

  • One Division (like “Main Division” or your company name)
  • Add more as your team grows
Start fast, refine later.

🟡 Mid-Size Companies (4–8 Crews)

Organize by:

  • Service (Maintenance, Build, Snow, etc.)
  • Shop/Branch Location
  • Supervisors or Area Managers

Example:

  • “Turf Care”
  • “Design/Build”
  • “Fleet Ops”

🔴 Large Companies (8+ Crews, Multi-location)

Use divisions to:

  • Mirror regions, zones, or branches
  • Separate seasonal vs year-round crews
  • Assign dispatch and SMS alerts to managers by area

Example:

  • “SN – South Region Maintenance”
  • “DB – North Hardscape Install”
  • “IRR – Irrigation Service”
  • “Fleet – HQ”

🎯 Why Divisions Matter

  • ✅ Assign crews, vehicles, and users by group
  • ✅ Only show people what matters to them
  • Notify the right manager when something changes
  • ✅ Improve ownership & communication across your team

🧠 Strategy Tips

  • Divisions aren’t permanent — update them as you grow
  • Use simple short names with icons (ex: “SN – South 2”)
  • Assign managers with phone numbers for critical SMS support

🌟 Final Thought

Divisions are built to match your company’s unique structure.

Start with what makes sense today — then tweak, expand, or rename as you grow.

When everyone knows who’s responsible for what, things run smoother.
